Just a quickie

Well I got all my wok in and I am on my Xmas break now, stressed about dissertation though! I have talked about the student protests before but they have hot the headlines on a massive scale since I last blogged, I still support the protests, this government deserves everything they get! I support it if people are doing it for the actual cause and not just as an excuse to act like an idiot and the police kettling in London the students is just outrageous! The snow is terrible, I went shopping today and nearly fell so many times, it is so dangerous! but I had some nice hot mulled wine and had a fish spa! Yes I am talking about the new craze where loads of fish in a tank eat your feet to make them smoother! does it work? kind of, maybe I wasn't in long enough. Is it freaky? a little, I felt like I was in a goldfish tank myself, all the people looking in through the window of the shop at what was going on. I start work experience in January, I am excited about doing it, hopefully it will go smoothly. I'm not so excited about my dissertation though. Happy Christmas everyone. I feel like I can't enjoy mine and be all that merry because of my dissertation worries but hopefully I will still manage to get nice and merry!

Tutiton Fee riots

I am one of the many students who feels anger and contempt towards Nick Clegg and his U-turn because of the sheer deceit and dishonesty he has demonstrated. I can understand the reasons why the students went to London and protested but causing that amount of destruction is not going to help anything and isn't getting the message across properly, that students are being treated unfairly. I don't agree with the violence, they should have been there to get a message across not distract away from that message by smashing windows etc. For Nick to say he would scrap the fees only to form a coallition with the Tories and go back on it is unforgivable and I feel sorry for future university students. Nick Clegg can obviosuly not be trusted.

Blog One

Well this is very exciting for me, I figured since I am a journalism student and an online one at that I should probably have well started a blog by now but better late than never and now I have a new laptop there seems to be no better start. I have that feeling of when you get something new and you just want any excuse to use it :) It has inspired me to get blogging.

Remembrance Sunday is approaching. I wrote an article for a website about this and it left me wondering, how many young people are actually expressing an interest in the World Wars? and have a knowledge about what the wars were about and what happened in them? Should people be better educated on the subject? because we wouldn't be living our lives the way we are now without the bravery of the troops. Who is going to be wearing a poppy this Sunday? Those who lost their lives are definitely in my thoughts this week. I think it is a generation issue why some people aren't interested, they all need to talk to Walter who I interviewed!

I have always been kind of interested in it ,Ann Frank's diary is a good insight in to what Hitler's regime put people through but I had the pleasure to speak to a War veteran at a spitfire display and now it just makes me want to try and be more interested in the matter. He was a lovely man who told me a lovely little story about a dog him and his fellow men found.

From a very meaningful matter to a completely light hearted one, X factor is about to start, who is everyone backing? I am a fan of Rebecca's wonderful voice and I am rooting for her to win, she deserves to, she is definitely my fave, seems a nice girl too. I am fed up with the likes of previous winners Leona and Alex B, they can sing but they are so boring! Rebecca is beaming with personality and her voice is so unique and one of a kind and Cher showed she could actually sing last week as well but vote for Rebecca!http://xfactor.itv.com/2010/videos/video/watch_live-show-5-rebecca-ferguson_item_201359.htm

Also as a last thought as it is a matter that is currently very much on my mind, what do you think about politicians blogging about political matters? Would you actually take any interest in them, do you think it is a good idea? Because a website I am aware of in Liverpool doesn't seem to be attracting much interest, why do you all think this is, do people just hate politicians these days or are they just not interesting enough and should leave the journalism and social media well alone?
